Yesterday, Gary Routh posted a story on his genealogy-bits blog about the oral histories from the Colorado State University (CSU) Sidney Heitman Germans from Russia Collection.

CSU has posted online the audio and transcript files of twenty of the sixty interviews that were conducted in 1975-78 as part of the Germans from Russia in Colorado Study Project. CSU Libraries has dedicated an entire section of their Web site to this collection which includes a photo gallery, full-text finding aid for the collection, and additional resources.

It’s a great site and I’d recommend that you take a look and listen to some of the interviews. They are well worth the time even if you don’t have German from Russia ancestors.
